breakfast {smoothie} of champions

My favorite way to start the day is with a fruit smoothie. Especially one that I make at home so I know exactly what is going into it. It was brought to my attention several years ago, that there are a ton of unnecessary preservatives and sugar in almost everything we buy at the grocery store. I started reading labels and being more aware of what I put into my mouth/body. I notice a huge difference in the way I feel everyday that I eat consciously.

My Breakfast Smoothie

Ingredients:
* 1 cup of fresh squeezed juice (I like Trader Joe’s tangerine or apple)
* 1/4 cup of organic, plain, non-fat yogurt
* 1 banana
* 1/2 cup of frozen fruit (I like a mix of mango, pineapple, blueberries and strawberries)

Combine all ingredients in a blender until desired consistency!

  1. that looks so refreshing. i have been hooked on this green smoothie (very similar to Whole Food’s Green Belt Smoothie). Kale, Spinach, frozen banana, frozen blueberries, dried apricots, rice milk. really good and really gets me going
