maison fleurie

Having bubbles at the beautiful Gloria Ferrer winery in Sonoma, CA.

Recently, Wade and I celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary by heading north to California’s wine country. One of our favorite places is Yountville in the Napa Valley. It’s a small, magical, picturesque town that is home to some great wine and amazing restaurants, such as, The French Laundry, Bouchon, Redd and Ad Hoc. There is also an interesting little dive bar called Pancha’s that’s worth a visit! We heard that’s where the local chef’s hangout after work and Thomas Keller has been spotted there on occasion! We didn’t see him this time but we did meet the owner of the bar who was very generous with the tequila shots!

Our charming B&B Maison Fleurie in Yountville, CA.

On this trip, we stayed at the Maison Fleurie B&B and had such an awesome time that I decided it was blog worthy. Maison Fleurie means flowering house and it’s easy to see why they chose the name. Built in the 19th century, it was originally a bakery and many of the items used during that time remain on the grounds. I felt instantly comfortable and wanted to stay there forever!

I could totally live at the Maison Fleurie!

Upon our arrival, we were given a tour of the property and its history. In the early evening, they have a wine and cheese hour hosted by local wineries. In the morning, we awoke to a delicious breakfast spread of fruit, granola and Mexican quiche that was the perfect start to a long day of wine tasting!

So quaint, so much history.

The grounds of the Maison Fleurie were gorgeous…

This was the beautiful, lush, path to the jacuzzi with stairs leading to the sun deck.

The Maison Fleurie jacuzzi was a little hidden gem tucked away in the rose garden.

Day or night, clothes or no clothes, I’m always ready for a great pool and jacuzzi!

The beautiful, historic dining room.

Everywhere you turn there is a breathtaking view!

Biking through a California landscape painting!

If you are looking to relax, drink good wine, eat amazing food and feel like you have been transported to a magical land then this is the place for you!
