Peek-a-boo! Eyelash extensions! Who knew? Eyelashes have been all the rage for quite sometime now. I have always been intrigued by the extensions but have always been to lazy to find a place, make an appointment and go try it. I have known people who have had them and loved them and they looked great. So, I was thrilled when we got an awesome new girl, Annie, at my salon who does them as well as nails and waxing! I have no excuse for not being on top of my beauty game now!

My Report: I think (and have been told) that my eyelash extensions look totally natural but really pump up the volume. They took an hour to have applied. They felt really odd the first day and evening but after that I haven’t felt them at all. They do move around a bit when I sleep and I have to reposition them in the morning. I wasn’t prepared for the fact that my mascara would be taking a vacation. It feels weird to skip that part of my make up routine. Even putting on eyeshadow is different because the lashes are longer then my natural. I have not tried eyeliner yet as I am afraid I will mess up the lashes when I try to remove it. Washing my face and getting them wet in the shower is really different because I can’t wipe the water out of my eyes to open them. I have to wash my face and then reach out for a towel and carefully pat my eyes dry. That part is kind of annoying but hey, women do crazy things for beauty! For that reason I am not sure I could comfortably go swimming underwater. The going rate for the initial application is around $90, lasts about 4 weeks and then you get fills that average $30. I do look more awake and alive without make up now and that is awesome! All in all I am very happy with them and it has been a fun beauty test drive!
interesting . . i sported these for a few months a couple of years back. the first time i did it i was like WOW!! POW!! GLAM!!!! it’s amazing because you wake up in the morning, look at yourself in the mirror and feel glamorous already. i didn’t even feel like i needed my normal makeup routine. . .
. . for like 2 weeks. then they start to get all wonky and spidery and devil-may-care because they’ve grown out with your lashes a little and are heavy. so about 2 weeks in i thought they looked scraggly and the weight of them became weird and uncomfortable and poked me in odd places. so i’d end up peeling them off gradually.
i’m interested to see if your experience is different. i’ve been using Latisse since i stopped doing the extensions and LOVE the results of that, but i still require mascara for my light lashes
loooove yooooou! <3
HI! Great feedback. It has been a week for me and I am getting used to them and love them. I guess I do have an advantage working in a salon with someone who does them that can check on them everyday! I will let you know how it goes! XO
Eyelash extensions can last for 7 weeks and it real depends on who applies them if the person does not apply each one from root to tip they will get weird and go cross eyed. I love latisse too but its not for everyone. If you notice a dark speckle in your eye Latisse is not for you as it can cause discoloration.
Thanks Christine! I have had mine for a week now and so far so good. I am getting used to them and love the look!
Hey Britt!!! So as you know I just got them!! Love them. My girl said every two week I will need a touch up and there are two types of lashes. Synthetic or mink. Synthetic you can feel. Mink you can’t. I got the mink. They last about 6 months and then you have to get a new set. When I see u I will give more tips I learned
Cool! I can’t wait to see them and get the scoop today!
