White Light White Night

Saturday night was the annual White Light White Night event in Manhattan Beach benefitting Walk With Sally, a charity committed to providing healing and comfort to children debilitated by the emotional experience of living with or losing a parent to cancer.

It was a beautiful summer night in the South Bay and the top of a parking garage had been transformed into a white wonderland. This was my first “white party” and there was something magical about it. My friend Mary was my date and we had so much fun! There were celebrities, live and silent auctions, craft beer and specialty cocktails, food tastings from over 25 restaurants like Doma Kitchen, Ayara Thai, Hudson House and Petros, live music by the 80’s band Berlin and great people watching! I can’t wait to go again next year!

Mary and I had the pleasure of meeting the man himself…John Paul DeJoria of Paul Mitchell. He was super cool and gave us hugs when we told him we were hair stylists.

Rick Schroder missed the memo that this was a white party.

Mary and actor Dean Winters. I loved his pants. He said he couldn’t find his white ones so he wore these that he got in Brooklyn.

The dessert table from The Torrance Bakery was outrageous!

The South Bay is really into wine…there were a gazillion bottles to bid on in the silent auction!

I fell in love with this gorgeous car on our way out!

I realized one thing when trying to find a dress for the event…white is extremely unforgiving. I was thrilled to find this dress by Rachel Zoe. It fit, was comfortable to wear, I could wear sandals and I felt fabulous in it!
