Welcome to the Sunburst Calistoga

I love to travel and I especially love cool boutique hotels. I haven’t actually stayed here (but I want to!) so I can’t rate its fabulousness on anything other then its looks! I don’t usually post about places I haven’t experienced myself but these pictures charmed me. I love the city of Calistoga and this looks like a great way to go to save money on accommodations so you have more to spend on wine! ūüėČ

The Sunburst Calistoga is a lively and freshly renovated destination providing a distinctly Calistogan experience at a great value. An alternative to the upscale, luxury Calistogan resorts and spas, guests of The Sunburst can enjoy the property’s natural mineral pools and take advantage of the hotel’s close proximity to mud baths, wineries, vineyards, restaurants and world-class hiking and mountain biking trails all set against the relaxed charm of Calistoga in Northern Napa Valley, a breezy 90-minute drive from San Francisco.

‚ÄúCalistoga feels like a completely different world from the rest of Napa Valley,‚ÄĚ says Sunburst General Manager Ryan Gourd. ‚ÄúKnown for the hot springs and mud, it‚Äôs become synonymous with relaxation. The Sunburst provides a casual and approachable experience that is every bit as rewarding as those offered by the Calistoga luxury resorts and spas. It is the perfect getaway for the traveler who wants to disconnect.‚ÄĚ

Discovered and used by the region‚Äôs Wappo American Indian tribe, the hot springs of Calistoga continue as a fixture for the community. Sunburst‚Äôs guests benefit from Calistoga‚Äôs famous hot spring mineral water in three on-site mineral pools heated to temperatures between 80 to 104 degrees. It is generally accepted by the Western and Eastern communities that soaking in these mineral waters, heated by the Earth’s mantle, will help maintain wellness while revitalizing skin, calming nerves, detoxing your system and refreshing oxygen levels. Guests are invited to make unlimited use of these refreshing pools during their stay. Limited day passes are also available for non-hotel guests.

Playful and lively with a retro edge, accommodations at The Sunburst are designed for casual comfort. Rooms feature queen- or king-size beds with plush bedding, rainfall shower heads, Keurig coffee makers, mini fridges and complimentary in-room snacks. Wi-fi covering entire hotel grounds is available to guests at no extra cost. A pet-friendly hotel, The Sunburst has designated rooms for pet stays and amenities to include pet beds, welcome treats, a dog-friendly concierge service and privacy sign for pet safety.

Calistoga, an established American Viticultural Area, is home to prestigious wineries and vineyards such as Chateau Montelena, Araujo Estate Wines, Schramsberg Vineyards, Clos Pegase Winery and Castello di Amorosa. With several wineries and vineyards within walking distance, guests may choose to set out on foot or rent bicycles from The Sunburst for about town exploring. Bags_Lady1

My bags are packed! This weekend we are hitting the open road and heading out to Sin City for a couple of days to celebrate our 9 year wedding anniversary! I am super excited to spend time with my husband and just relax. It has been a crazy busy couple of weeks and we haven’t seen much of each other so the timing is perfect. ¬†What are you up to? Here are some of my faves this week…

* I hungout at the newly redesigned Est√©rel in the Sofitel Hotel in Beverly Hills for their unveiling party last night and it was gorgeous. There is a ton of outdoor garden and cabana seating that would be perfect for Sunday brunch. I can’t wait to go back!

* Tomorrow night is the Annual White Light White Night Charity event for Walk With Sally in Manhattan Beach. A ton of celebs will be there including my 2 favorite Heathers…Dubrow and McDonald. Hopefully I run into at least one of them! Last time I checked there were still a few tickets left!

* Thursday July 30th Create Nightclub will host the 6th Annual LUCKYRICE LA Feast featuring the best up and coming chefs and plenty of Asian-influenced cocktails. Tix are $150 VIP and $88 GA.

* Rilastil is one of the top skincare lines in Italy and I have been using the Long Lash Mascara¬†($32) and Illuminating Eye-Contour Cream¬†($70) for the last month and love them both! I normally wouldn’t spend this much on a mascara but this one is worth every penny. The mascara wand is flexible and really separates the lashes. It contains red algae extract thats helps to strengthen your lashes. It doesn’t clump or flake either which is amazing. The eye cream has a really cool applicator tip that smoothes it right under the eye and it contains¬†31 active ingredients to lift, firm, and brighten the delicate skin under the eye area. I feel like it has really improved the appearance of my dark circles.

* Christie Brinkley…who doesn’t love her? She has always been naturally beautiful so when I heard she had a line of skin care now I had to try it. I have been using the Complete Clarity Daily Facial Exfoliating Polish for a few weeks now and I am a huge fan. It is gentle, cleanses and exfoliates at the same time, has a very light fragrance, and is under $25. My one tip is to make sure you really wash it off well. A couple of times I didn’t and my face felt a little felt gritty when I was putting on my moisturizer.

* I love a mud mask and the Miracle Skin Transformer Miracle Revival Mud Mask ($38) is the bomb! It only takes 15 minutes, feels cool as it settles into your skin, and unclogs pores, detoxifies and hydrates. It truly is a miracle and they sell it at Nordstrom. The next time you get a “note” (true Nordies will know what I’m talking about) treat yourself!

* Speaking of Nordstrom, the Anniversary Sale is going on now until Aug 2nd and Whish (I love them…remember their fun event at Ulta?) has created an exclusive line called Soda Fountain Collection with a bath and body gel ($15) and a body butter ($12) in delicious flavors like Orange Cream (my favorite), Black Cherry, Ginger Melon and Key Lime.

* Citadel Outlets is proud to be a part of the Los Angeles community welcoming the 2015 Special Olympics World Games with their Reach Up and Shop! Program. From Saturday, July 25- Monday, Aug. 2, World Games athletes, family members, volunteers and honored guests can show their World Games badge to receive 20% off top name brands across the center!

* There’s a new shopping site called Her Velvet Vase out of Singapore that just launched in the US that has super chic clothing and accessories that are all under $100!

* There is a great Norman Seeff rock-n-roll photography show at  Ron Robinson  in Santa Monica thru August 30th. One more reason to stop in and check out this awesome store!

Have a super fun and magical weekend! XO

Last month I went camping at Lake Cachuma near all the cute little towns like Solvang, Los Olivos, Santa Ynez, and Los Alamos. I was so happy I brought this denim gem that I just got at GAP because I wore it everyday! It is so lightweight and comfortable and can be worn with flats, sandals, or wedges and it always looks super chic but still casual. I don’t think I have rocked a jumpsuit since I was a kid, so this purchase was WAY out of my comfort zone but I love it and it has become my go to summer piece!

Jumpsuit GAP, Sunnies by Quay from Topshop, Vintage glass bead necklace that I just got that day from The Depot Antique Mall & Wine Pub, Purse (my camping bag) from Walmart years ago, Old TOMS for camping

Happy Fathers Day Weekend to all the dads out there! Wade and I are hitting the great outdoors (with my inlaws) for a little camping trip to Lake Cachuma. Our setup isn’t quite this chic but it is pretty comfortable. Waking up in our cozy 2 person sleeping bag is my favorite place to wake up in the world! What can I say, as much as I love the city I love nature. What are you up to? Here are a few of my faves this week…

* There is a new Sephora Mega Store (6,250 sq feet!!!) opening July 26th on Beverly Drive! Now thats a destination!

* Fathom Gallery in the CMC is showing Rock on Paper June 20th-July11th M-F 12-6. The Rock On Paper exhibition highlights Mr. Aaron’s favorite shots and tells the tale of how Rock Music came of age through the lens of a true artist.

* Saturday night June 27th get ready for a treat…love yoga? love roller skating? love sexy beats? Checkout this crazy night of all of the above. Info here.

* I love my Zero Water tumbler and take it everywhere. I can have clean, filtered water anywhere with this cup with its built in filter. It’s perfect for traveling!

* These 2 products have everything!!! Cute packaging, they work and they are inexpensive! I am in love with the ¬†bodycology Woopsie Daisy body cream ($4)¬†. It has a light fragrance and is rich and hydrating. The Piper’s Perfumery fragrance mist in Love Spark¬† ($5) smells really sweet on the first spray but quickly lightens up and is perfect for summer!

* H&M just opened in Downtown Long Beach and I can walk there!!! Enough said.

Whatever you do, hug the ones you love and have a magical weekend! XO

Wine Country Horse

Today I am playing hooky with my friend Farron! We are heading north to spend the day horseback riding, wine tasting and eating our way through the quaint little town of Los Alamos. I am so excited! What are your weekend plans? Here are some of my favorite things this week…

* Yesterday I spent a magical morning with some very interesting women in the backyard of “fashionista turned psychic” Tori Hartman¬†learning all about her new book and Chakara cards. (more to come about that next week). You can hang out with her next Thursday the 11th at 7pm at Barnes and Noble at The Grove in LA!

* Nutrimatix¬† uses data and science to formulate the perfect daily vitamin blend for you. I recently tried it and have never felt better. The app is easy to use and the vitamin packs came quickly. I am a sucker for great packaging and they didn’t disappoint. If you are confused about what vitamins your body needs this is the perfect place to start!

* If you haven’t already, be sure to enter my Helen Ficalora seashell necklace giveaway! I’m choosing a winner on Monday!

* You know Tabatha Coffey, the Gordon Ramsey of the hair world, loved by some feared by many? Well, she just started a fantastic beauty website called Industrie that is full of awesome hair and makeup tutorials for women AND MEN!

* I have always been a fan a the DBelt but now the  DBelt Pro is even better with a slimmer fit, Xtra-Dry fabric and it can fit and iPhone 6 Plus!

* Going to be in Israel next week? The Tel Aviv Pride Parade will take place on June 12th this year and the events will be held in support of gender equality with an emphasis on the transgender community.
