Along with the delicious libations Next Door Lounge also offers a variety of lite bites like this Grass Fed Beef Slider. I loved the crispy onions on it!

These in house made “spaghetti pretzels” were amazing. I could of eaten an entire bowl. They are so light and crisp with the perfect amount of salt and pair nicely with any beverage!

Along with great food and drink Next Door Lounge also has a variety of fun entertainment like live music, a murder mystery dinner show and comedy.

Next Door Lounge is located at 1154 North Highland Ave. Hollywood, CA.

See you there!

Friday Faves

Ruby Montana's Coral Sands Inn, Palm Springs CA

Good morning! Today’s Friday Faves are coming to you straight from one of my favorite places…PALM SPRINGS! No, I’m not going to Coachella but I am hanging out at The Parker all day for the blogger parties and fashion shows! I drove out last night stayed at the adorable Coral Sands Inn with my friend Farron. All the rooms are themed and we had the Roy Rogers Room which did not disappoint! Every inch of that room had cowboy decor and kitschy knickknacks. We had dinner at Norma’s and then drinks and dessert at an old school favorite Melvyn’s. It was the perfect Palm Springs night and I can’t wait to see what adventures today brings! Farron will be selling her gorgeous weavings today and tomorrow in Joshua Tree at a pop-up-shop in The End. If you are out that way be sure to stop in and say hi! Whatever your weekend brings may it be fun filled and magical! XO

As a starter we all shared the decadent Duck Carnitas. We had them earlier in the year and have been dreaming of them ever since. They are perfect for the holidays!

The First Course was the Baleen Garden and was delicious. It was baby beets, farrow, tomato, quinoa, avocado, pea shoots, almonds with a soft lime vinaigrette. The texture of the farro, quinoa and almonds made this salad very unique. I would love to eat that for lunch everyday!

The Second Course was a gorgeous Crab Salad full of avocado, haricot vert, and lollo rossa. They use both soft-shell crab and fresh Dungeness for this dish.

The Third Course of Roasted Black Sea Bass with roasted mushrooms and sweet potatoes in a fabulous aromatic broth was so mind blowing that I took half of it home – it was just as amazing the next day!

Friday Faves: Hawaii Edition

photo

Aloha! Today I am writing this from MAUI!!! I am so thrilled to be here and grateful to have the chance to spend time with my friends Mary and Kevin on this beautiful island. We have only been here 1 full day but I am already in full relaxation mode. Today we are taking a helicopter tour and I am beyond excited! It will be a first for me! Here are a few of my favorite things this week…Hawaii style!

* Still being on CA time and catching the sunrise and sunsets!

* Finding this awesome Jasmine perfume on our first night here for just $11!

* Swimming in the warm ocean water and having salty sun drenched skin.

* Delicious champagne cocktails at Leilani’s!

* Sleeping to the sound of the ocean waves outside of our balcony.

* Waking up to the sound of exotic birds chirping in the trees outside of our room.

* The exceptionally friendly staff at The Hyatt and the delicious breakfast with swans! Yes, there is a swan pond off of the dining room!

* Using Maui Babe lotion over my spf30 to get the perfect golden glow!

* Not being able to take a bad picture because everything is so beautiful here!

* Poolside Mai Tai’s with my friends!

* Blogging with an ocean view while the sun comes up. It doesn’t better then this!

Whatever you do this weekend I hope its magical! XO

Throw a Candy Cocktail Party

Specialty candy boutiques have been all the rage for quite some time now. Places like Sugarfina, The Sugar Factory and Dylan’s Candy Bar have actually become destinations in places like LA, NY and Las Vegas. Hopefully they are selling this new book Candy Cocktails because you could really do some damage shopping for a candy themed cocktail party! The authors Katherine Good and Flannery Good are 2 bloggers who co-write a blog called Fashionably Bombed about mixing fashion with yummy cocktails. Publishing this book was a dream come true! They have a chapter on frozen candy cocktails, holiday candy cocktails, candy shots, how to throw that perfect party and more all in 160 colorful pages! One of my favorites is the Pop Shot that I turned into a martini (pictured above) with Pop Rocks on the rim!

Ingredients:
Lime juice for the rim (I used honey)
Pop Rocks
1/2 ounce vodka
1/2 ounce raspberry liqueur
1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
1/2 ounce simple syrup

Put it in a cocktail shaker with ice, shake and strain! Delicious! Cheers! Happy Friday!
