Sofitel Wine Days

The Sofitel in Los Angeles is more then just a hotel. It is an international gathering place with beautiful decor, top notch dining at Estérel, and a fabulous lounge, Riviera 31. Right now for Sofitel Wine Days (through October 31st) order a French wine flight during happy hour and graze their vast spread of the most amazing cheese, olives, honey and snacks all for just $15! What a deal! I recently stopped by and experienced it all…happy hour, dinner and a fantastic jazz show!

The Sofitel Wine Days event takes place during the traditional wine harvest season in France, and offers an opportunity to discover French wines in hotels around the world.

I could of made a meal out of this delicious spread!

I absolutely love this outdoor seating area!

After dinner we walked back into a packed lounge and this amazing jazz band. There are different jazz musicians every Monday night and the doorman told me that Stevie Wonder showed up and played earlier in the year. It was a really fun vibe!

I just want to note our dinner at Estérel. It was to dark to take any good pics but we had a really wonderful meal. To start off the waitress recommended the Strawberry Basil Martini that was sooo refreshing and flavorful but not too sweet, just the way I like a cocktail! Then came a really lovely bread basket full of all different types of deliciousness. We had lamb meatballs as an appetizer which I could of had as an entree because they were so good. They were done Moroccan style with couscous and dates which came as a surprise as I was expecting them to be Italian style in a red sauce. It was a good surprise as they turned out to be my favorite thing! We had a very nice lobster for dinner and really enjoyed the romantic, relaxed vibe of the outdoor dining area. It was a beautiful evening under the stars!

The Sofitel is located at 8555 Beverly Blvd right across the street from the Beverly Center.

Shop Till You Drop at The Citadel Outlets

Last week I met with Chelsea, PR Manager at The Citadel Outlets, to chat about all of the awesome up and coming events they have going on there. She asked if I wanted to meet for breakfast and honestly I didn’t even realize Ruby’s Diner opened that early (7:30am and shops open at 10am). We weren’t there quite that early but I thought it was a great way to start a day of shopping! The next time my mom (my favorite all day shopping partner) is in town we will have to start there with breakfast!

Breakfast was delicious and just what I needed before I hit the stores!

My first stop was Kate Spade! I love the vibe of the store and they are always having amazing sales! On this day everything was an additional 70% off the already discounted price!

My score of the day was this gorgeous, knee length leopard print coat originally marked $500 and I ended up getting it for $68! I can never pass up the leopard print! I am a big fan of the whimsical Kate Spade clutches and got this one for $22! You can never have too many!

Some of my other favorite stores at The Citadel are American Apparel, Billabong, Converse, DC Shoes, GAP, H&M, Lucky Brand Jeans, Volcom, Michael Kors, Max Studio, Kenneth Cole, Coach, Banana Republic, A/X Armani Exchange, BCBG Max Azaria, Calvin Klein, Levi’s and True Religion. You can see the full list of stores here and get your shop on!

Friday Faves

Happy Friday! How relaxing does this bubble bath look? This picture was inspired by a wonderful sponge soap on a ribbon I recently tried out that I thought was just brilliant! It’s called Spongellé and comes in a variety of scents and is packaged beautifully. This sponge has the soap already built in, lathers up nicely and offers the perfect amount of exfoliation, which I love. There is nothing like super smooth, super soft skin! Whatever your weekend brings I hope its super relaxing! Here are some of my faves…

* I love Lauren B polishes! They swipe on easily, dry fast, and stay glossy and chip-free (truly!) for at least 14 days. During the month of August Lauren B will donate 20% of the proceeds from the sale of the Lauren B. Cares Chrysalis Collection to the nonprofit organization.

* These constellation necklaces from My Jewel Candy are so cute and unique and just $25!

* Have you watched Candidly Nicole on VH1? Nicole Richie is hilarious. She has teamed up with my favorite way to learn about hot new beauty products, Birchbox, and has curated some of her faves! New subscribers can sign up by August 25th to receive this Candidly Nicole collection as ($10/month or $110/year). This box is also available for purchase as a standalone item for $15.

* Remember the super cool workout outfit I reviewed for Fabletics? Well, for the month of August they have teamed up with New York graffiti legend Stash (who exhibited his first pieces of artwork alongside Keith Haring and Basquiat) to create a super cool collection. Stash even painted portions of the cafe at the company’s headquarters in El Segundo!

* This article 19 Healthy Foods You Should Reconsider is great!

* I’ve got another wonderful day cream for you. This one is by Christie Brinkley and is called Recapture 360 + IR Defense Anti-Aging Day Cream with SPF 30.  ($90) I really love the texture of this cream and how beautifully my powder goes on over it.

* Looking for something to do in The South Bay this weekend? Checkout my friend Jackie’s weekend guide!

* Love unique, local, handmade goods?  In DTLA on Sat & Sun is the Unique LA Summer Market!

* The original movie Parent Trap was one of my faves growing up and you can see it on Tues. Aug 11th at LACMA at 1pm for $5!
