Friday Faves

Wow…can you believe Memorial Day Weekend is already upon us? It totally snuck up on me and I have no idea what I am doing! I recently spent some time in fabulous Las Vegas with my family and had a blast! I am sure that it will be one giant party there this weekend. What exciting plans do you have? Whatever you do have a fun, be safe, and relax. Here a few of my current faves as well as some upcoming faves! Cheers!

* While in Vegas we saw the Michael Jackson One Show at Mandalay Bay. It is a must see for any MJ fan! There is memorabilia, tons of photo opps and an awesome gift store where my mom and I found the coolest boombox reusable totes for just $8! Stay tuned for a full post on it soon!

* We saw a ton of billboards heading into Las Vegas for the show Puppetry of the Penis. We thought it was a joke but oh no, it is real, and looks hilarious. Unfortunately the showtimes didn’t work with our plans. It will be at the top of our list for next time!

* The Neon Museum just outside of DTLV is home to a ton of historical neon signs. Its like a neon sign graveyard and a totally cool, unique and educational thing to do on your next trip to Sin City! Full post coming soon.

* Looking for a lash growing alternative? Checkout Primolash…it strengthens, lengthens and darkens your lashes in just 8 weeks.

* See the Green Day musical American Idiot in a warehouse in DTLA now through June 7th.

* I just discovered Topganic Hair Oil and love it as much as Moroccan Oil. It is lighter weight, smoothes down frizzy hair and is less expensive!

* Love seafood? Love brunch? Want to splurge on an amazing afternoon? CEVICHE PROJECT is back for an exclusive Sunday brunch at Wood Handcrafted Pizza in Silverlake on May 31st at 1PM!

* I recently tested out a new skincare line from Japan called Equitance. They promote health and beauty from the inside out. The line includes a daily vitamin which I love and a daily cleanser that will leave you feeling squeaky clean. You can see my video of everything I tried here and (for a limited time) get a starter kit for $5 only here!

* I have been a fan of Judy Bloom and her transporting tales since I was a little girl and now you can see her live with An Evening with Judy Blume in LA Tuesday June 9th at 7:30.

* I know Halloween is still 5 months away but if you are looking for some early inspiration checkout these awesome costume pics from last years Bestival Festival and if you will be in Toronto Island, Canada June 12th & 13th you can experience it for yourself!

* I’ve been super impressed with Scar Away as it has greatly reduced the appearance of a couple of spots on my legs in just a couple of weeks. See my before and after pics here.

Friday Faves

I am obsessed with this illustration by Leigh Viner

Happy Friday! What a fun and wild week. Between finding out that I won the #Pandorasweeps contest from the Coachella Party I attended at The Parker (I can’t wait to see what I get!), attending The D Train premiere, working and preparing for my out of town guests, my week was busy and full of excitement. I have got a lot planned while they are here including a quick little getaway to Sin City! What are you up to? Whatever you do enjoy yourself and be grateful! Here are a few of my faves this week:

* This self tanning spray by Venetian gave me the perfect, streak free, “Vegas Ready” glow!

* Traveling to Tel Aviv? The entire city now has free wifi making it that much easier to upload all of those awesome travel pics!

* Have a cute little artsy kid? Checkout the Redcat International Children’s Film Fest going on tomorrow thru the 17th in DTLA.

* Checkout my Roloxin Lift videos part 1 and part 2. It instantly leaves your face feeling smoother, firmer and brighter!

* I have been testing out this new super creamy mousse by Rusk all week on my clients and its great! Just when you think mousse is out of style it makes a comeback and is better then ever.I have found this mousse works great with Moroccan Oil on curly hair to scrunch and diffuse as well as in straight hair to blow out with smooth volume!

Friday Faves

Wow, Friday is upon us once again. Last week I was out frolicking in the desert and now a week has already flown by! This weekend is looking pretty mellow for me and I couldn’t be more excited. I have a stack of books and magazines that I would love to dive into. What are you up to? If you need some inspiration checkout my Friday Faves! XO

* April 20th-Sept. 6th at The Fowler Museum in LA: “Making Strange: Gagawaka + Postmortem” is an exhibition juxtaposing two distinct but related bodies of sculptural and assemblage work by contemporary Indian artist Vivan Sundaram — both addressing issues of fashion, culture and mortality through the inventive use of nontraditional materials. It looks crazy and weird and right up my alley!

* Ever wonder what Oil Pulling is? I was curious too and tried it recently. I am not sure how much of a detox it is but my mouth has never felt cleaner and fresher. If you are really bored you can watch me do it to dance music here.

* Opening this Saturday: Incorporating vibes of a Hawaiian poke stand, with bright & modern finishes, Mainland Poke Shop is perfectly at home along the fashionable West 3rd Street neighborhood. The clean design from Montalba Architects creates a chic Maui meets LA hybrid. It looks delicious!

* If you are in NY in the next month join Royalton in the Forty Four Lounge for the launch of Concrete Jungle, an Instagram Photo Exhibition series showcasing some of Instagram’s best photographers.

* An interesting, artsy and mildly disturbing video from Hi Fashion, just incase you need that sort of thing today.

* One of my besties, Keri, has been battling different types of cancer for the last 10 years. She is one of the strongest and bravest women I know. She can use all of the positive vibes, love and support she can get. You can see her story and donate here.

* Always been curious about The Magic Castle? This Saturday the 18th they are hosting a swap meet from 9-3 thats open to the public for just $8. It’s worth checking out!

* I recently tested out a mascara by DakotaVox with a mirror on the tube and an LED light for just $13! Its great to keep in your purse and clicking the light on the end is quite addicting. Aside from all the gadgets the mascara is rich and creamy giving the faux lash look. It’s a 3-in-1.

* Pop a Cork and Grab a Fork for the Hall Winery Cab Cook Off on Saturday April 25th! Wade and I went last year and had a blast!

* Heading out to Coachella Weekend 2? Don’t miss these great deals at The Desert Hills Premium Outlets!

Blogchella with Pandora and Hawaiian Tropic

Last Friday I spent the day in the desert taking in all the Coachella Party glory I could pack into just one day! The Parker was a one stop shop with plenty to do. Checkout my adventures!

I started the day under the Hawaiian Tropic Tent with an awesome yoga session and a super relaxing massage from the girls at Exhale. Then I was hydrated with a delicious smoothie and sunscreened up for my day in the sun with the new Hawaiian Tropic ultra light, clear, sweat resistant spray on sunscreen that smelled amazing and kept me from burning all day! Thanks guys!

After freshening up my next stop was the Pandora tent. They have a gorgeous new collection of the most dainty, beautiful things! #Pandorasweeps

The Disney Style Tinkerbell tent was so chic with great festival looks and Tink inspired shoes painted by different artists. They were styling hair, doing gold temp tattoos and giving out wings! #TinkStyle

Next up was the Disney Style Minnie Mouse tent full of super cool red, black and white clothes and accessories, a candy bar and a nail bar with a manicam! I got a fabulous Minnie inspired mani from the sweetest nail/makeup artist named Lynne. She actually lives and works in Orange County if anyone needs her services…she travels! #minniestyle

Finally, the event of the night! A super cool fashion show from SIWY, Pandora and Minnetonka. Everything was hot, hot, hot! The denim was very unique and looked perfect for the desert. I was also surprised to see what a full collection of different style mocs and sandals Minnetonka has out. They look comfy and stylish! Now thru 4/26 take 20% off 1 Minnetonka item with code FESTIVALFRINGE

I ended the night out on the lawn with my new friends Tamera and Michael playing life size Jenga and enjoying the beautiful desert sunset. We even ran into the man himself The Cobra Snake. What a treat! Then I had to head back to LA. At least it only took 2 hrs to get home as opposed to the 4 hrs it took me to get there the night before! I am already planning on staying longer next year!

Thank you to Hawaiian Tropic and Pandora for an amazing day!

Friday Faves

Ruby Montana's Coral Sands Inn, Palm Springs CA

Good morning! Today’s Friday Faves are coming to you straight from one of my favorite places…PALM SPRINGS! No, I’m not going to Coachella but I am hanging out at The Parker all day for the blogger parties and fashion shows! I drove out last night stayed at the adorable Coral Sands Inn with my friend Farron. All the rooms are themed and we had the Roy Rogers Room which did not disappoint! Every inch of that room had cowboy decor and kitschy knickknacks. We had dinner at Norma’s and then drinks and dessert at an old school favorite Melvyn’s. It was the perfect Palm Springs night and I can’t wait to see what adventures today brings! Farron will be selling her gorgeous weavings today and tomorrow in Joshua Tree at a pop-up-shop in The End. If you are out that way be sure to stop in and say hi! Whatever your weekend brings may it be fun filled and magical! XO
