The long, holiday weekend is finally upon us! What are your plans? I have a beach wedding today, some work on Saturday, a relaxing Sunday and a pool party Monday! Whatever you do have fun! Here are some of my favorite things this week…enjoy!

*My adorable hubby has taken the Del Real Foods Blogger Recipe Challenge and needs your votes everyday for the next week! Please show him some love and vote here!

*Style meets technology with this gorgeous ring that lights up and vibrates when you get messages or alerts on your phone. So cool! I am obsessed!

*Did you know you can get a pre-paid Visa card with bacon on it? I didn’t either but its kind of amazing!

*I am in love with Venox, an anti-aging serum that I have been testing out. I apply it at night and wake up feeling firmer and smoother. Its my favorite one of the moment!

*This minute and a half peek into an active wear fashion show in Stockholm gets me all charged up! I love the heart and seeing the wigs before they are on the models heads.

*If you have a dog you need this! My crazy, inventive cousin Bonnie came up with and made this ingenious product…The Poopy Carrier!

Kitchen Cabinets from Ikea

Before- all we had were wire shelves that didn’t utilize all of the space on these walls in the kitchen.
Before- prepping to get down to business.

After- aaahhhh…our glorious cabinets and storage for everything!
After- the night shot with under the cabinets lighting!

When we first moved into our loft 4 1/2 years ago we thought the wire shelves in our kitchen were cool and “lofty” but the novelty soon wore off and we were tired of having our stuff exposed. We had been talking about putting in cabinets ever since and finally did it this year. I couldn’t be happier! It feels so luxurious to have a place for everything. Since we wanted to go with clean and modern, these high gloss white cabinets from Ikea were a perfect fit. Literally. I am so grateful for a husband who knows how to do all of this stuff. He measured things out with just inches to spare and it all worked. I was amazed. It was a lot of work doing it ourselves and although it cost more then I had expected, I know we saved a ton of money. So, our house was trashed for about a month and there were a lot of blood, sweat and tears but it was so worth it. Now onto the rest of it!

The awesome folks at ReCircle Matter (posted here) want to give one lucky person one of their fun, hand crafted chalkboards! To enter, just leave a comment below with the color you would like if you are chosen! I will pick a winner at random next Friday the 31st! Good luck!

Congratulations Carrie! You are the winner of the ReCircle Matter giveaway!

ReCircle Matter

Darian & Chris of ReCircle Matter (and me!) at The Melrose Trading Post.

Meet Darian and Chris. They are artists, craftsman and all around creative peeps who I just adore. They operate under the name ReCircle Matter and their philosophy is,”Everything in the universe travels in circles, in circles, and in circles. Everything you put into the world, be it energy, creativity, hard work, suffering, and even simply thoughts and intentions… all circle through the universe and return. Each may return a bit different…. changed…. sometimes a bit hard to recognize but they always hold a part of their original matter. We believe the same about art.” They make awesome, affordable, handcrafted furniture and home goods and will work with you to custom make whatever you can dream up!

Supporting local artists is always a good thing!
Darian and Chris were commissioned by one of my favorite stores, Topshop, to make custom pieces for their grand opening at The Grove in LA!

I feel so fortunate to have such talented, creative friends and I love sharing their stories!

Congrats to the adorable couple who just got hitched in Vegas last weekend!
