Fashion Business Inc is a non-profit organization that provides the fashion industry with entrepreneurial development, resources and training, to support its growth and profitability. My friend Mary and I had the pleasure of attending their annual fashion show last week at Union Station in DTLA and it was fabulous! So. Much. Talent.
It was my first time at Union Station and it was absolutely gorgeous. The bubbles were flowing at the opening reception and Gary Allegretto kicked things off with an amazing harmonica performance.

Plush Cashmere — Mixing it up West Coast style. I love that sweater cape!
Last week I had the pleasure of attending a night of fashion at the beautiful Taglyan Complex in LA. It was an Art Hearts Fashion event produced by the smart, savvy Whitaker sisters Erin and Sarah. What a night!
How gorgeous is this space? It was the perfect place for a fashion show. This was swimwear by Courtney Allegra.
The Courtney Allegra models after the show.
The art part of the night included a little indoor gallery as well as an outdoor space. I loved this painting by Molly Gruninger.
There was a beautiful outdoor space around a fountain that had all of these fun pop culture/fashion paintings by Sham Ibrahim tucked around in the trees/bushes. I loved it!
The show closed with the fabulous designs of Amato Couture! It was wild and over-the-top and I loved every minute of it!
Amato Couture really knows how to put on a show! This red moon backdrop with the red hair, fog and gorgeous dress was magical!
Last month I had a long time client/friend get married on Waikiki Beach in Oahu and we had the pleasure of spending a week on this beautiful island at The Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa and it was absolutely fabulous! The lobby was gorgeous, the customer service was top notch, and we were within walking distance of everything. Our room was absolutely amazing with an ocean facing window and ocean view balcony. We spent a lot of time out there. It was paradise!
The stunning view from our balcony. It doesn’t get much better then this! We actually ordered food to go from Arancino di Mare on our first night and had a romantic dinner under the stars.
I loved waking up to a view of the ocean every morning. It felt like a dream!
The bathroom was spacious and modern with plenty of room for me and the hubs to get ready at the same time. We need this set up at home!
A “Welcome Mai Tai” and shrimp cocktail at the poolside lounge The Moana Terrace was the perfect way to start our trip!
DK’S Crab Ramen with Asian Truffle Broth with cilantro, Thai basil and mild jalapeños at Sansei was my favorite meal of the trip! How decadent can you get?!
The Fresh Hawaiian Ahi Carpacciov Garnished with cilantro & chopped peanuts in a Thai chili vinaigrette at Sansei was so fresh and delicious I could of eaten the whole plate myself!
Beach wedding ready! I am wearing my favorite summer dress by Geisha Designs.
We rented a jeep for a day for around $100 at the Enterprise that is located in the hotel and gave ourselves a tour of the island. Our first stop was The Dole Plantation. I was obsessed with getting pineapple ice cream and doing the garden maze. It was a complete zoo of tourists but the ice cream was well worth it! Our next stop was the famous Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck in Haleiwa and it did not disappoint. If you like shrimp, garlic and getting messy you are in for a treat. By the time I was done my hands were covered in sauce and I was thrilled to see a giant outdoor sink. With our bellies full of shrimp deliciousness we headed down the road to Waimea Valley where we took a beautiful 1/2 mile walk through the Botanical Gardens to the majestic Waimea Falls where you can swim. It was magical. On the way in/out there is a cafe that serves snacks, beer and wine as well as a gift shop. There is nothing like a cold beer and a little shopping on a hot afternoon!
All in all I found this island to be magical. It dazzled me with its beauty and its wonderful people. I will definitely be back one day. There is still more to eat and see like Pearl Harbor and the Doris Duke house. In the meantime I will just close my eyes and go to my “happy place” on the balcony at The Waikiki Beach Marriott over looking the ocean and try to keep the Aloha spirit alive!

The Sofitel in Los Angeles is more then just a hotel. It is an international gathering place with beautiful decor, top notch dining at Estérel, and a fabulous lounge, Riviera 31. Right now for Sofitel Wine Days (through October 31st) order a French wine flight during happy hour and graze their vast spread of the most amazing cheese, olives, honey and snacks all for just $15! What a deal! I recently stopped by and experienced it all…happy hour, dinner and a fantastic jazz show!
The Sofitel Wine Days event takes place during the traditional wine harvest season in France, and offers an opportunity to discover French wines in hotels around the world.
I could of made a meal out of this delicious spread!
I absolutely love this outdoor seating area!
After dinner we walked back into a packed lounge and this amazing jazz band. There are different jazz musicians every Monday night and the doorman told me that Stevie Wonder showed up and played earlier in the year. It was a really fun vibe!
I just want to note our dinner at Estérel. It was to dark to take any good pics but we had a really wonderful meal. To start off the waitress recommended the Strawberry Basil Martini that was sooo refreshing and flavorful but not too sweet, just the way I like a cocktail! Then came a really lovely bread basket full of all different types of deliciousness. We had lamb meatballs as an appetizer which I could of had as an entree because they were so good. They were done Moroccan style with couscous and dates which came as a surprise as I was expecting them to be Italian style in a red sauce. It was a good surprise as they turned out to be my favorite thing! We had a very nice lobster for dinner and really enjoyed the romantic, relaxed vibe of the outdoor dining area. It was a beautiful evening under the stars!
The Sofitel is located at 8555 Beverly Blvd right across the street from the Beverly Center.

I am completely obsessed with Sara Happ lip products! Something so simple as a lip scrub almost seems unnecessary until you try it. Yes, it is one more thing to add to your nightly routine but it is so worth it! I use the Sara Happ Lip Scrub in Brown Sugar and if it happens to get in my mouth it tastes like a chocolate Peep! I slather it on dry lips then wipe it off with a tissue and rinse my lips off with water. Then I apply the Sara Happ Lip Balm and wake up with the softest, most kissable lips! Her One Luxe Lip Gloss is amazing too. She makes the perfect nudes. Checkout her fun event at Sugarfina in Beverly Hills!
